The health of residents of Coweta and Fayette counties is well guarded with the extensive medical facilities and services in the area. Two award-winning hospitals anchor the medical services—Piedmont Fayette Hospital and Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Among its many awards, Piedmont Fayette Hospital has repeatedly been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals and Most Wired for delivering quality patient care. The much-anticipated groundbreaking for Piedmont Fayette’s Cancer Center was held in November 2009. The Cancer Center will be located on the hospital campus and will have a healing garden, the Cole Rainbow Garden, set adjacent to the Center.

Some of the big news at Piedmont Newnan Hospital is the renovations to the Women’s Services department, including decorated tile flooring as well as updates to patient rooms, the nursery and nurses’ station. Tammy Norbeck, RN, MSN and director of Piedmont Newnan Women’s Services, says: “These renovations will help us take excellent care of our patients today while we plan for our future Women’s Services floor in the replacement facility.”

Also new is the Piedmont Outpatient Center, located at the Summit Healthplex on Highway 34 East. The fully-digital center has on-site radiologists and provides CT scans, diagnostic X-ray, ultrasound, digital mammography and DEXA scans and more.
