Keeping seniors engaged with quality programs in Coweta and Fayette Counties.

Fayette Senior Services

Established in 1978, Fayette Senior Programs (FSS) provides life-improving programs for Fayette County seniors 50 years of age and older. In Peachtree City and Fayetteville, the group runs The Gathering Place and The Life Enrichment Center. FSS seeks to improve the quality of life for senior adults by giving them options for independent living. Seniors who meet eligibility conditions can take advantage of free or inexpensive services. FSS is an essential source for possibly life-saving treatments because it also offers transportation to doctor’s visits, dialysis sessions, and prescription collections.

Meals on Wheels helps housebound seniors in Fayette County preserve their comfort and independence by providing food delivery services and company. In order to provide comfort and company to individuals who are unable to leave their homes, FSS has been gathering and distributing pet food donations for Meals on Wheels customers’ pets since 2009. Seniors 50 and older can meet new people, revitalize their bodies, and feel powerful in the Life Enrichment Center’s friendly environment. Over 100 monthly events covering social, educational, recreational, entertainment, and fitness are available at the two Life Enrichment Centers, which are managed by Fayette Senior Services, to keep seniors engaged and active. The goal of these programs is to provide participants the skills they need to become stronger and more confident.

Coweta Senior Services

All seniors 55 and over can participate in a variety of programs and activities offered by the eight senior centers spread throughout Coweta County. Members meet weekly at the county-based facilities (see list on page 69) for games, music, arts & crafts, and camaraderie. The Tommy Thompson Senior Center in Newnan hosts breakfast and lunch every day, Monday through Friday.

Seniors in Coweta County frequently enjoy entertainment and education through educational lecturers and musical performances. Senior blood pressure checks are available at certain places. Homebound seniors can participate in its Meals on Wheels program, which is run out of the Thompson Center in Newnan. The Coweta County Fairgrounds and Conference Center hosts an annual spring picnic and Christmas meal that is open to all Coweta County seniors.

Wesley Woods of Newnan

The only Life Plan choice in the area is Wesley Woods of Newnan, an active retirement community. When considering the future, that distinction provides their independent living residents and their families with a much-needed sense of stability and security. They have immediate access to a range of care services, such as skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care, all under one roof, should the need arise. They have received recognition for the high caliber of care they provide. In 2025, Newsweek named Wesley Woods of Newnan one of America’s top Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC), while Newnan-Coweta Magazine named it the Best Assisted Living Community.
