From large retailers to locally owned shops, our two counties have everything!
Coweta and Fayette are lucky to enjoy a wide range of options when it comes to shopping. Our two counties have it all, from big-box stores to independently owned stores. We support “buying local” because it helps our community by giving local business owners and employees a living in addition to increasing tax revenue. The social and economic well-being of the area is enhanced as a result of increased revenue.

SERVING LOCALLY SINCE 1965
Smith & Davis Clothing was founded in 1965 by Fred Smith and Ronald Davis. The store served the mostly rural communities of Fayette and Coweta Counties with work clothes, shoes, and dress apparel. In 1973, Mr. Davis acquired Fred Smith’s share of the company and kept running the store. Today, Mr. Davis’ children, Tony, George, and Beth all take part in the successful running of the business.
Smith & Davis has experienced changes in the times, trends, and even their location in the 59 years since it first opened. The initial relocation to a bigger space took place in 1979, and the current 20,000 square foot structure was constructed in 1988. The dedication to offering top-notch customer service and high-quality products is the one thing that hasn’t changed.
In recent years, the store has welcomed new faces into the buying, management, and marketing portions of the business. Like Tony always says, “I know my limitations”. Ted Patterson and Samuel Perez now handle the majority of the buying. Samuel is also in charge of the marketing department. They work together to manage the store.
Nearby Peachtree City is known for its abundance of runners and tri-athletes, and Smith & Davis has become a Running Specialist and is a trusted shoe source for runners in the area. Smith & Davis was also awarded the Top 25 Gold Medal Service award winners in ‘22 for the United States and #2 in Georgia by Footwear Insight Magazine.
Non-commissioned Run Specialists at Smith & Davis take the time to provide you with both what you want and what you need. The first step in the procedure is a foot scan using their Gait Analysis machine, which identifies the kind of arch and degree of pronation present in each runner. Everything here is intended to help you fit better into running, casual, work, and leisure footwear. This service has reached the ears (and feet) of doctors and physical therapists around the area.
But shoes aren’t the only thing they are known for – their clothing selection covers a wide range of choices. From heavy duty work wear to athletic, casual and dress clothing, they have it all.
The ladies’ side of the facility has developed into a more boutique-like presence, stocking the most in-demand top brands in outdoor wear along with the newest seasonal trends & accessories.
Do yourself a favor and visit Smith & Davis if you haven’t already. You’ll be surprised at volume and variety of clothing, shoes, accessories, and more hidden in this gem of a store, just outside of Peachtree City.
